Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of Japanese transportation conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries, now known as Subaru Corporation, who introduced its first car in 1954.
The Subaru logo is inspired by its name Subaru, which in Japanese means the Pleiades star cluster. The bigger star and five relatively smaller stars around represent the Fuji Heavy Industries and five companies that are united under the FHI group. Under the oval which wraps the Pleiades star cluster is the Subaru wordmark.
A font called Square 721 Bold Extended is pretty similar to the Subaru wordmark. Square 721 is a digitized version of Eurostile typeface by Bitstream.
